Tate had gone to Grandma and Grandpa's farm the preceding Wednesday, then to Lanigan for the weekend, all without Mommy and Daddy. Chryslyn and I were charged with the duty of returning him home to Medicine Hat on the Monday following the weekend. He was a real trooper in the van and was excited about the trip home. And Chryslyn and I were excited about the headphones and DVD player for Tate.
After a couple of hours on the road, Tate fell asleep.
As did Chryslyn...
As did Tavis...
Once we entered Medicine Hat, Tate broke into a huge smile as he started to recognize his neighbourhood and realize that we were almost there.
Once at the door, we left him on the steps by himself for when Wendy answered. Their reunion was very cute and heartwarming. Lots of hugs from Tate, and eventually the question, "Why are you crying, Mommy?"

On windmills...
I love the grace and serenity of the windmills, slowly sweeping the prairies with their gigantic arms. Their full power and size simply cannot be grasped, however, without trespassing and standing right underneath one. Even these pictures cannot do justice to their enormity. And I know, you will say, "I know how big they are... We drove by and got pretty close." No, you don't understand. You must actually go stand underneath and hear the mighty blades slicing through the air to really appreciate these new "prairie giants."
On paying for Waterton prior to May long...
Sunday afternoon, it was time for a trip to Waterton in the beautiful spring weather. Felt a little ripped off that despite most of the shops still being closed and even the visitor not having opened, they still charged admission to the park. We didn't think they started charging until May long weekend. Even the Red Rock Canyon road was closed, as well as the campgrounds, so I'm not sure what they were charging FOR. I'm thinking the only employee Parks Canada has hired so far for Waterton is the gatekeeper.
Oh well, it was a great day for a quick hike to the top of Bear's Hump (still too much snow anywhere higher up). Nice view of the townsite from up there. And there was this really hot girl up there too. I managed to catch her on film (see above)...
On 30th Birthdays...
OK, none of us are heavy drinkers, but when my friend Bryan flies in for a visit, and it's almost his 30th birthday, certainly I need to throw a party for him comprised of friends of mine whom he doesn't know... And certainly there needs to be a few jello shots and martinis had as part of the celebration. Pictured above: Chad and Mira playing with empty jello shot glasses, which Chad was convinced Mira bought at the church supplies surplus store...
On Mischievousness...
What do four friends do when they've got an open evening and want to have an exciting & cheap double date? Well, they regress to their repressed teenage years, sneak into the beautiful Lethbridge Lodge and go for a swim and hot tub, during which they make up unisex fake names and cover stories as to why they are visiting the windy city... Ah the good times that Stacey, Leslie, Billy and Stevie had...
